A close friend of mine asked me to post this up for him. This Willys has been around for a while, and was offered for sale on Ebay as recently as last year. My friend was bidding on it, and was in contact with the original builder (I believe) but was unable to get ahold of the seller at the time. He was the high bidder on the car, but it did not end up selling (as far as I know, I heard it was listed twice possibly?) Anyway, the car dropped off after that and we haven't heard anything about whether it sold, or where it went. At any rate, my friend is still very interested in buying the car, and is hoping someone here might be of some help in getting in contact with it's current owner. I know the car is (was?) an east coast car, New York if I remember correctly, and belonged at one time to a well known club over there. I haven't seen very much of it, and was only able to find this one pic of it via google: If anyone knows where this car is/how the owner can be reached, please PM me... My friend has several other Willys and is serious about buying this car. Thanks in advance for any help!
probably doesnt help you much but it was featured on p137 in East v West Showdown book. Have not read it for a while but i'm guessing article is on original owner Ed Flathead Castellano? go to this link then page back to 137: http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=...=gbs_selected_pages&cad=3#v=onepage&q&f=false
I had drooled over the red Willys custom years ago at the NY Rumblers car show. Didn't belong to any of the members as I recall. I don't have any other info on the car, unfortunately.
i know flathead ed owned it, but he sold it a couple years ago now. I have no idea on who currently has it
Sorry guys! I like the looks of a Willys but the last thing they should have are skirts. I give this 1 rod up and 1 rod down.
Please don't drag gasser drama into this thread. I'm just trying to find this car. There are 3 gasser threads open right now if you want to split hairs about wanna be gassers.
Bumpin it up, hoping someone knows something. My buddy called Flathead Ed yesterday and left him a message, hoping he'll be able to help. Thanks guys.
I talked with a guy at the piston power show in ohio this year who has a 39 like that. I believe he owns a bicycle shop in north east ohio I do not know if it is the same car though I only saw a picture of it on his phone,Dave
Bumping this up. Still trying to locate this car. Anyone? A name or number of someone who might know a guy who knows a guy who might know the current owner?
there was a nice tail dragger willys at the hot rod reunion in bowling ky this year. i can't remember what color it was. some magazine guys where taking some serious pics of it when i was there.
It was probably that green one with the chopped top (glass car) It seems to get a lot of press. Nice looking car for sure.
