The car will have two inline Big Blocks.
    Something like this:

I believe only Lenco transmissions will handle the power. Will start with a ST 1200.

Would a truck axle, something like the Dana S110, maybe even a Detroit axle or Meritor, be better than a beefed up Ford 9"?
    Pros/cons?

The car is intended to be primarily street driven, with occasional strip and salt-flats amateur races.
It will have some cheater slicks.
Will those truck axles withstand high speeds, like a salt-flats run?
Would they survive full power quarter mile launches?
I can live with an open-diff. Of course locking wouldn't hurt.

    Thanks in advance.

The S110 is very strong & was introduced to be the next step up from a Dana 80. The S110 is a joint effort with the housing from Dana & the center section from Eaton Fuller. Just make sure the gearing available is in the range you want.
