Are these cars suitable for a 250 lb guy?
Trying to buy a project one out of state & curious how wide they are inside door to door. I'm talking 48 Anglia.
How do they compare inside width to a 32 Ford Roadster?
    Wider, narrower, close to same?

It really depends on the seats. I'll really be wedged in with the racing seats I'm installing, but the previous seats without side bolsters were no problem.

Howdy, I thought I would get on here and look things over, and quickly decided this is a great place for English Ford questions. I have what is registered as a 48 Anglia that is still all stock, and really enjoy it, but am wishing for a bit more - - of course ! I would like to put wider wheels on it as soon as I can, the 3 1/2 inch wide dry-rotted 17's make me a little nervous. Will try to attach pics of our current car, we've had 3 ENGFO's so far.

Anyone know who has the Contemporary Fiberglass Anglia molds? Or if anyone is producing a similar body? The Contemporary Fiberglass bodies seems to be more "racey."

  11. The Contemporary Molds were made from my car. They then chopped one and made the chopped version. This was the body that Most of the drag racers used in the early 70's, including the Blair's Chopped A/Gas Supercharged car.
There is a guy who sells on eBay that contacted me and says he has the original molds. There are others on there that sell various copies.
PM me if you want his email

Here's the link to a video of an anglia we threw together for my nephew Donovan to run in our Gasser group it's a 4 speed stock wheelbase 52 inch long old school ladder bars straight axle everything as old school as possible. Everyone said you had to have a long modern wheelie bar to make it go down the track. (no way was we putting a pro mod wheelie bar on something this cool) Here the video to prove you can still run a short Anglia with all old school parts. It went 9.60 at 139 on a very mild tune up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eZmSFrmWH4

Gathering parts for this project. Planning on using the back half of this chassis with the stock frame in front. Still looking for a front axle set up if anyone has one.......

Have you rolled the back half up next to the car and looked at it? Looks like the frame kick up and the seat might wanna share space.

    Ask me why I looked.

That's why you don't want to fill the roof, so your head can stick out! :)

    Choprods,
Looks like you've got enough Anglias to measure, but I was messing around with mine and threw a tape on it to get a measurement. From the centerline of the axle to the rear door post is 22 1/2". That's with the CL of the axle moved back about 1" or so for tire clearance. Also my seat is set so that the back is about 12" behind the doorpost. I'm a little over 6' tall and need all the leg room I can get since the firewall is moved back for engine clearance.

I have this frame and front axle navailable. The frame is original stock and the axle is a narrowed Ford V8 60 tubular car axle with early Ford spindles and brakes and transverse spring.

I will be going totally tubular and IFS.
