That must be such a joy to block sand. I'm a big fan of muiti coats of primer, it may cost a bit, but what good is it having leftover primer in a can? Bob [IMG]

We used 2 gallons to do the all the body parts. With three of us sanding it went fast, We waited 2 week between the last 2 coats. I wanted to give the primer time to shrink!!! My bodyshop buddy knew that my hands needed a break and he needed to catch up on some collision work. It worked out good for both of us.

The day I brought my 1940 Willys shell home. My wife was not impressed, no floor, rockers or firewall.

I have been on a few excursions with my friends and I have a picture somewhere that looks just like that. We have dragged a lot less than that home before. My wife understands that I suffer heavily from Willitis!!! good luck with your project. The sedan floor pan swap is a great way to fix that coupe. LARRY

looks good with the stock pans in the rear but I still gotta smile looking at those old weight jacks in the "before" pic..someone put alot of time into that trick setup.

Excellent metal work. What you have done with this car is inspiring.

It's been awhile since I've had time to work on the Mystery Willys. In the last couple of months I was able to strip down the frame that I purchased. I boxed the rails and built a new x-member. The picture shows the drop out transmission cross member and the modification to the front cross member. I didn't want to modify the firewall so I had to move the cross member to have room for the motor. [IMG]

The rolling chassis. The next few pictures will be of the ladder bar setup. A few people have asked me to send pictures of this setup. [IMG]

Side view showing the floating link at the front of the ladder bar. There is a bushing through the frame with a bolt that holds the link. This link allows the ladder bar to move backwards so that it doesn't bind the spring.[IMG]

View looking down from the top. The bolt will be grade 8 with a locking nut. There will also be a safety chain in case the rod end breaks.[IMG]
