would sel the compleet car yes but shipping it back to the us would be expensive.

Great job! Great cars! Kids here in the states are mostly into import tuners because they say they are cheap ect. they are just not looking hard enough and taking the easy way out.Glad to see you did'nt settle for less. Keep on rodding!

but first make it road leagal and then make the dicision if I leave the patine ore restore it.

So, will new lettering be going on top of the old green paint? I hope so, the green looks to have pretty good patina already.

 

I cant see what kind of paint you're using, but with 1shot I like to add a LOT of tinting clear to my color, really washes it out good.
Also, once the paint is tacky brushing back over a few spots with a brush of thinner will help it to break down a bit more.
If you're doing it over that green fender on the Hudson you'll want it about aged out before you remove the stincil, or you'll ruin that patina thats allready there.

 

That was the plan to put it over the patina car yes.

I like it.

I just did an old looking new lettering job on my '50. It looked a lot better after a wet sand to make it look a little worn in like it was on the car for a while.

 

I dont know what paint youre using. I do my letting with 1shot (lettering enamel)

There is a "tinting clear" that you can use to change the color, or in my case, i use it to thin it down. Its still got the consistency of regular 1shot and wont run down the panel, but its 1/3 the opacity or less depending on my mix.

Perhaps if youre doing a 2k paint you could just mix some 2k clear into it. I do mostly clear on my mixes for patina lettering. I also throw some baby powder in the mix, flattens out the shine and gives it a bit of a wrinkled finish in the end. If youve looked at old lettering it wrinkles and cracks.

I rubbed it out with comet and ajax when done too.

yes Edweird his hudson looks super, I contacted him how to start and he gave me some good info.

 

Love the patina on your Hudson... Lettering turned out great! Can't wait to see the finished product!
