Went out to look at the car in the hanger this morning and it turns out it's not a "belly button" 32. It's a 30-31 Model A Coupe. Still not a bad find. But things kind of go down hill from there. My neighbor Bob, tells me the guy who's helping the folks clean out the hanger told him the lady wants $XXXX amount for the car. So I call her up and offer the same amount. She tells me she needs to talk to her son in Texas first and talk to a friend who is in a car club to find out what its worth. Not sure if any of them have seen it lately or at all. So I offer her a little more just to sweeten the pot. Now I have to wait to find out what the verdict is. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

The body's in decent shape one rust spot on the lower driver's side cowl. Its been channeled and the frame butchered. It could be fixed but if I do build it I'm going 32 rails. It does have hydraulic brakes front and rear. No pedal, no firewall, no visor, no gas tank, steer box/column is questionable.

Picture to come when I figure out the Photobucket thing.

    Rule #1.
"you must go look, that is the law."
Rule #2. If you tell anyone about your possible find, you jinxed yourself.
Rule #3. Tell no one until your find is in your garage. Edit; Tell no one until your find is in my garage.

Hope that it works out for you. Caution, Don't fall in love with this find. More often than not, these kind of deals can break your heart/wallet. There are plenty more out there.

    All the best,

Front end. Front cross member was replaced with some channel to move the axle forward and to lower the axle.

The installation of the steering box, front cross member, and engine mounts and rear bone mounts were a real hack job.

man thats a great looking 32!

ive come to realize that most peoples "32 fords" are actually model A's that they want way too much money for

  10. Looks like you could make a Hot Rod out of that. I agree, a '32 frame might be the way to go.

  11. Nice catch/find, good luck with the $$ issue. Stuff like this hasn't happened to me ... yet!

Yeah, I'm not to worried I come across model A's all the time. I have 2 sitting in the back now and know of 2 others for sale. Just had to be sure it wasn't a 32. Found a 34 Coupe in a barn 3 years ago I bought.

    I'd really like the hanger.

They said going rate is $30 a square foot. I heard this one is $100K way to much IMO.

I had a buddy that thought one was a 32 because it didn't have a visor, in your buddies defense.

Hi Brian good to hear from you. I'm doing well.
I will chase down every lead I hear of you never know what you might find. That's how I found my 34 coupe.

  30. hope his work on airplanes is better than what was done on the frame of the "32". What is that body next to the airplane in the hanger shot? Not the A that you are buying, is it?
    Later,
    Dick
