  3. Dave's second 'Tuna Tank" Fiat is usually in the NHRA museum. Painted the same color, but a glass body and an injected BBC.

I took this photo in 1970 of the ex-Beebe and Mulligan car at the Nationals at Castlereagh International Dragway near Sydney. Jim Read had purchased it and later made it into a rear engined car.

If Read bought it, it must have been just after he won the nationals in an upset victory with his full bodied junior fueler right? Didnt Ron Waneless run the ex Leland Kolb car as well.

The Beebe and Mulligan car came to Australia via Leland Kolb and was painted in his red and yellow scheme. Following Kolb's down under tour the car stayed with the track that bought him down under (Surfers Paradise Raceway) and was repainted red, white and blue. Peter Dykes drove the car for the track and then it went to Read who had it painted back in the Beebe and Mulligan colours. I have a photo of the car when the track owned it and will post it when I get a chance.

    Roo,

I've got pictures of the thing in all configs on my build thread. I'm pretty sure there's one of the Rear-End car as well.

Not sure, don't think so, roll bar is not high enough, but I think that there were several versions...great timing for your question, though, as my new Rodder's Journal came today, and on p.12 there is a restored Lyndwood chassis-ed car running at the Jalopy Showdown drags, if you can get a copy compare it to the car in the picture you asked about, some of it is pretty close but, again, the roll bar on this car sits lower...(not a lot of Lyndwood cars out west but understand they were well built and popular, especially in the east....

Rick, not sure either on this one...don't remember if Frank ran anything other than the Scott injector, but, given Frank, he could have run anything..

Dave, the reason I threw that guess out there is by the similar headers...

Anybody remember why the "Gas Company" ran a mail box for a scoop?

Was it because they could advertise the gas companies address? Or maybe they knocked it over on the way to the track.

I don't guess I'll ever see Yellow Fang without thinking of this local car.
