Man, I wish! It's a car from Washington I guess. The owner posted some pics on the hamb about a month ago but didn't give us any details. Then it was on ebay a few weeks later.

Thank you, I've been wondering what the lights were. I've seen them horizontally and vertically mounted before. I have a real desire to run a pair of these on the rear of my Merc.
Have to say you're convert is great, saved quite a few photos of it!

I came across this one on cris3025 his Flikr page. The photo was taken at the 2013 Detroit Autorama. Of course only one photo, and nothing else to be found so far.
I think its a really neat concept. I do not care for the four bar hubcaps which totally do not fit the rest of the concept. But the sectioned hood, raised rear fenders, reshaped wheel openings, molded '37-39 Ford headlights and reshaped bottom of the front fenders are all really looking nice together. It also looks like the windshield was chopped and leaned back a bit more over stock.
There are still bumper bracket openings in the front fenders so it looks like there will be some bumpers installed later on... cool I think it needs them. But overall I really like this very much Valley Customs and Jimmy Summers inspired Custom...

Who knows more about this one.. and or has more photos to share

Another picture of the white Merc from Autorama. The sign said the top irons were modified Corvair.

  12. Cool Jeff! Can't wait to see more. Did you take a picture of the picture because the front wheel on that car is super distorted in your post?

Is this the one Ed Leopold(?spelling) built. He`s from Illinios. I know it was forsale.

  14. Im sure on a computer it might look distorted but im only using my phone with a small screen.:(

  15. HAHA! I had to do a double take because it looks like the top of the wheel is canted way in like when mini truckers have their trucks laid out and the front wheels are at about 45 degrees.

Is it in primer in the picture? It looks like it. Was it ever finished?

  16. ^^ Careful there are a bunch of minitruckers on here who now have their wheels canted on their old cars.I wouldn't want you to offend them.

No the wheels weren't canted and yes it is in primer in the photo.Im not sure about the paint yet.

    Beware Hambster's,
Their is a guy from Norway on here, that is looking for Kustoms. He sounds legit, but keeps asking for Bank Account Numbers in every e-mail. I was leary from the start, and opened up a temp account just to see if he was a scammer! Yes he was, he was after my '41 Coupe Tail Dragger, and said he was looking for Mercs too. Pm me and I will give you his name! Beware!

    Hi Tim!

Is it a columbia overdrive unit only or is it a complete axle? If it is a complete axle, it will be too wide. Otherwise, I think it should work to use with your -39 original rear axle parts. But someone might know more?

    Thanks J.B.
I bought a complete axle with all the parts
The Right bellhousing must be too long then, if i want to switch the parts with my 39 axle?
Does anyone know the exact thread or width on a 1939 versus 47 Mercury
the seller said the measurement is 54 inches backing plate to backing plate. And 68 inches axle end to axle end.
    Any input would be great

    Best Tim

  21. You're gonna love that Columbia; neat that you were able to get the original switch, too...

    There's 1.5" difference between a 46-48 Columbia and a Stock 1939 Banjo rear.

I measured my Columbia to be 53.125" from backing plate to backing plate.
