Went with friend Tim yesterday to buy this turd. He has been looking for a new project for a while and this was the cheapest and closest to home. That is how he builds them. I told Tim I would start a build thread if he wants. He is calling it the "driver carries no cash build" Looks like it might have been ex-military.

Well he has got a 350/700R sitting in his shop. S10 front clip and rear end. Gm tilt wheel Keeping the rust and dents. One piece door glass. Redo the bed wood and drive it. Tim is a big guy so he wants it to drive comfortably. High on the list is to sound proof and seal the cab for long trips.

  12. i like the idea of keeping it on the trailer, this way you can drive it to shows even before it is done. i bet the tow vehicle is a chevy, most fords are powered by them.:D

Driver carries no cash build.....he won't fur sure after he builds this. Even so, it's way better than most of the projects we get around here....

I agree, some have started out a lot less desireable and turn out great, lots of parts for them so easy enough to restore or build as is, might turn out ok

probably wont, but looks a good base to start with for sure

That's no turd. Looks solid and pretty darned straight. I like those trucks.

If it was mine, I'd put some paint on it with no "slam". Rebuild the original suspension, steering and front brakes, and find some stock wheels. Change just the engine, trans and rear end. But it aint mine.

Oh...and change my name to Lamont.

  30. I hear MAACO is having a 1/2 sale
