Hi, new guy here. Been lurking around for some time and now seemed like as good as any other time to join. Bought a 65 Corvair about 6 months ago, needs some love and there looks to be alot of folk here that are expert in all things car. So glad to be here! Bill
Welcome from Kansas. I am originally from Brownsville back in the 60's and have family all over the state- where are you? Also a coworker of mine is well versed in corvairs. If you have a specific question I will reach out to him and get an opinion.
Wow, I don't know what happened, tried to post and it didn't take. Thanks Willy, always open to suggestions and tips This is my first project car. Never welded and I've painted 2 of my daily drivers, both came out less than ideal But i'm excited to start on it. There's rust to repair to do, found some at the winshield pinch weld and where the door hinges are. In part and tool accumulation mode, need a welder and a larger compressor. Spend time on this board searching for comments on welders and compressors but get so distracted by peoples awsome project posts. I've never welded and my paint skills stink but I don't care, ready to learn and any screwups will be mine Oh and I'm in Bedford Tx.
Hi, I am in Gunter, TX. Goodguys show is out at Texas Motors Speedway this weekend, probably be some Corvair's there.
If you're talking about the ugly white/primer green one, then that would be mine. I don't post much here 'cause it's not HAMB friendly, but I appreciate the props! I was impressed that you took your car out. Most guys I know don't have the huevos to run a car with that much motor vs that narrow of a tire. Welcome Bill. If you need some help with your car feel free to PM me. Also, check out the Corvair Center Forum. Jack
