I have a 1959 Avion 23 ft. I plan to pull it with my 1958 Apache short fleetside when I get them both on the road.

Cool! It's in my neighborhood too. I bet it gets about 4 gallons to the mile though. I better pass.

One of a kind, Cadillac ambulance with El Dorado frame mounted camper that was installed by the El Dorado factory. Of interest to someone restoring old Cadillacs, lots of good parts, or perhaps someone might care to bring it back to life? Currently listing at $1900 or best offer. Has been non-op since 1997 sitting on side of home. I purchased this rig in 1965 and have owned it ever since, pro mechanic for many years and this rig was like a hobby as well as living in it. Currently does not run but nothing terminal on what was a low milage short block some years ago. Have records of maintenance performed over the years and I know the history of all that has been done. I know there is value in this rig so if you are serious contact me with any questions you may have and I can provide detailed answers. Need to sell to vacate driveway for new RV to be purchased in near future so I am serious about selling, contact me if you are as well, all offers considered.

Couldn't find a good picture of my Airstream. They all look about the same, anyway. So, heres' a photo of my water camper. It is a 1958 model, powered by a pair Nash 327 V-8s.

Twin Nash powered boat? That is so cool!

I just picked up a boat I'm trying to determine the brand of, all I know is it was built in 61 and I am going to pull it with my 61 Monarch!

  12. I previously posted some pix of the 64 Alladin I got in January, I couldn't leave well enough alone, especially after finding so much rot up front, I am almost done with the inside, got her all re-butyl'd on the outside, new tires, she will be ready for her maiden voyage April 1st to Lodi, Calif. When I get her home, she will get a new creme/aqua paint job on the outside. a few pix of the rot and the progress.

If you're going south through Houston on I45 and take the Telephone Rd. exit, take a right on Telephone and shortly you will come up to a RR bridge. Just the other side of it on the left is the old Spartan Trailer Dealer building and on a pole in front of it since the late 40s or early 50s is a 20ft or so Spartan trailer. You'll see the trailer before you go under the RR bridge.

Would you happen to have an address for that place? I tried looking it up on Google Earth to no avail.

Last time I drove by the building was a Celebration Hall, you know birthdays, anniversaries, 15th Birthday girls parties.

Technically not a camper, but since no one is likely to start a thread on home-made horse trailers, I thought I would stick this up here. Story goes that is was used in filming the movie Electric Horseman, but its scences mostly got cut from the final film.

A couple years ago, I came very, very close to building new / old vintage campers. I had brought home a 1961 Shasta compact, (13') shell as a pattern for a starting point.

I just recently sold the old Shasta shell. I was floored by the number of people who called and also from how far away they were. The camper was posted on craigslist.

My question is this...how many buyers would pony up for 9 - 10k for a brand new one? I still have a more than passing interest.

    Thanks,
    Worken2much
