That frame is more in the style of an early Logghe funny car or altered chassis and is meant for a coil over sprung straight axle in the front and a ladder bar rear. It is possible to get these frames to pass tech but it takes some additional tubing and a sympathetic tech guy who understands the intent of the rules rather than just being able to look at the pictures in the spec.

Not sure of the origins of this one, very light weight, most likley was a Jr. fueler???? Originally had a 3 point cage (per notches in the exisitng upholstery) and differnt rear axle, the exisiting mounts are pretty butchered up for a poorly done 9". Missing the motor plate so I have no idea of power plant. Built for a small driver, not much ass space behind the pumpkin. I have a couple of other frames to post if I can find the pictures, including a historic twin engine gas car!

Yeah, the front towers for the shocks do resemble a Logghe stage 1 or 2. The top main rail is 1-1/2 inch tubing and the bottom main rail is a 1-3/8 inch tubing. I looked at the rear of the chassis this weekend and it appears there was something removed there as well. After looking at the tubing, the entire chassis is TIG'd but the two bars that come out forward to the cross bar for the steering wheel, someone MIG'd those on.

How early do you think this chassis is, Roo?

I have seen a picture some where that claims to be an earlier Kellison dragster. It looks totally different. The picture you posted is the only type I remember seeing. The first chassis were mild steel. Chrome moly was an option later on.

When's this thread gonna get resurrected again?

  19. Need to dig out and scan photos of mine. Frame was in a old trailer a buddy of mine bought. Not sure of the manufacture, but definitely old school! Still collecting parts for the build.

This is a new car built to cert to 6.0 so it changes the look somewhat but I strive to maintain the sexy lines of early diggers ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1397400366.603703.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1397400401.890625.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1397400427.420466.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1397400448.856314.jpg

This one is 6.0 legal (and just a few items away from NT/F) so they can look traditional and still pass the SFI spec.

Roo, I do not think I have ever seen the back of the body wrap around like that. That adds a lot.

I have been talking with a guy about trading my RED for his FED but after I got a picture of the side of the car I don't think it is the one I am looking for.

Hmmm . . . I would pass on that one. Any idea of what is coming off the back of it?
