I need a little help. I have a 63 belair wagon with factory power steering. I'm looking to change it to manual. What parts do I need? are the steering boxes the same? please let me know.

When I went the other way and converted a '62 from manual to power, I could find no difference in the two steering gears.

  3. I think the steering boxes are the same. They sell an adapter to get rid of the PS control valve on the end of the center link. Try Ecklers Late Great Chevy or the Truck & Car Shop. I think CPP might have them too.

Pull off the ram, pump, & hoses. Swap the control valve for the adapter and your done.

  4. why not fix and keep the "power assist" on your wagon? Every one i ever had leaked but the parts are available to fix them.
