Well, after a major hang up were back on track with Eds car, i had gotten the car running, it ran really well and sounded good too. i loaded it on the trailor to bring it to the exhaust shop and the car ran great, got the exhaust done, got the car back home, unloaded it from the trailor and the car still sounded great, started it up a few times thruout the day, nearer the end of the day a noise started, uh oh, you bet....a rod knock! i gues it wasnt so good of a used engine after all, but what can you do.

So we pulled the motor back out and apart, i picked up a donor 8ba for the crank and rods, had the crank turned and rods reconditioned and cleaned and reasembled the motor and got it back in place and got it running great once again and it sounds good once again.

So we proceed to button up a few little things, got a horn installed, got a new trunk release set up, got the rims painted and pinstriped, made some new exhaust bezels and got the rear nerf bar all mostly done up. we also did the gauge repair to the pair of wings gauges too.

Jennie installed some vintage style maroon loop carpet.

Ed will be coming to get the car this following week, im sure he cant wait.

That car is so cool.. I hope it brings the owner back to his youthful (and perhaps, mischievous :D) days.

Thank you for not pulling it all apart and "fixing and or replacing" everything that was preceived as being wrong. Like you said, this was a well built hot rod for back in the day and no reason it won't give the owner miles and miles of rodding pleasure by just reconditioning the "old build". If they ever give a "just leave it alone" award I'll make sure your name is first on the trophy list. Ya done good!!!

Got a email from Ed a couple weeks ago, he had thought the headers use to be chrome so he had the new headers plated, man they look good, he also plated the fan and had the rear nerf plated.

I've got to say this is how it should be done - the car retains all of its character and charisma, but now runs and stops great. If it was mine I couldn't be happier, so as already said a great job Jeff. Look forward to the next one.

I know this has been 6 years ago. Just read it for the first time. Does anyone have any updates on the roadster and owner?
