TRJ, Rod & Culture, Hot Rod Deluxe (but that one's hanging by a thread), Engine Masters on a case by case basis, Classic Bike, Vintage Motorsports, and R&C has just kind of earned their way back onto "automatic buy" status in the last couple months. Just wish they would print it on something that didnt look like toilet paper. Hell, even if it was skinnier. God that paper is awful. Kinda like that newish Cafe Racer mag too, I've picked that up a couple times lately.
Just R&C and Street Rodder. My collection (going back to the 60's) has a lot of different titles, but these two are the only ones that I subscribe to now.
Not alot of mags are H.A.M.B.friendly anymore the only one i get like that is Hot Rod Deluxe. Haven't gotten R&C or Street Rodder for years but i should because i can't find them at the grocery store and $15 a is alot to pay every month for TRJ.
Rodders Journal, Rod & Custom, Traditional Rod & Kulture, Hot Rod Deluxe. about 5 years ago I sold almost all my old magazines in ebay. I used to buy just about every HOT ROD related magazine from 1972 til the early 90's when I cut back some. bet I had 5000 lbs of magazines..box after box. should have kept my 70's Rod & Customs and street Rodders...to late now
-Traditional Rod & Kulture (Awesome, just always awesome) -Ol' Skool Rodz (If it's a decent issue worth buying, sometimes awesome, sometimes terrible, depends on how many "Rat Rodz") -Rod & Custom (On occasion, the somewhat recent issue with the Brizio-built 32 on the cover was awesome) -Rodder's Journal (It's always a great mag, but I can't always shell out the money for it, especially after buying all the other mags, has to stick out from the other issues for me to buy it. Ex. Issue #54 with the twin 32's really stuck out for me) -Classic Trucks (Sort of eh on this one, too much billet and pro-street/pro-touring whatever, someone bought me a subscription as a gift which was very kind) -Show Class and DICE magazine although not hot rod related particularly
Rodders Journal, Rod and Custom, Hot Rod Deluxe, Traditional Rod & Kulture, Rolls and Pleats and Church.
Rod and Custom is my favorite but the number of pages continue to decline. Once it only becomes a cover, I will probably not renew. Street Rodder's "new look" sucks so I may not renew. The change to a small font does nothing for the baby boomers. Then there is the small snap shots that are jumbled togather with captions scattered all over the page. Some genius scored big with the highly acclaimed "new look". It killed the magazine for me.
-Classic trucks- (Buy) Only if it has a MoPar truck in it, which it usually has the same common ford and chevys in every issue. -MoPar Collectors Guide (Subscribe) My favorite mag. -Mopar Action (Buy) Only now and then when I see something I like in it. -Mopar Muscle (Buy) I should subscribe I buy almost every issue.
Rod & Custom- subscribe (always good) Hot Rod Deluxe- buy (depends on what's inside) Hot Rod- subscribe ($20 for 2years and a hat!) Street Rodder- buy (depends on what's inside) Ol' Skool Rodz- buy (depends on what's inside) Rodders Journal- buy (depends on what's inside)
Rod & Custom- subscribe Hot Rod- subscribe Street Rodder- subscribe Car Craft- subscribe GoodGuys Gazette
Rodder's Journal - when i can find it. Rod & Custom - Sometimes Hot Rod - In the mail Street Rodder - Almost every issue Car Kulture Deluxe - Sometimes Ol' Skool Rodz - Sometimes Rat Rods - NEVER AGAIN...JUNK! Car Craft - In the mail Mopar Collector's Guide - In the mail
well, if it's one you actually read and don't just look at the pix, then it's The Rodders Journal. Pat Ganahl in IMHO is the best writer of all things Hot Rod. Congrats to Steve Coonan and all the rest at TRJ
Still Runnin magazine -Im a contributor Collectable Automobile - ALWAYS Model Cars magazine - sometimes Rod an Custom- especially if there's Flatheads in it Pontiac Enthusiast - sometimes This Old Truck- sometimes Rodder's Journal- sometimes scrubba
The Rodders Journal, Street Rodder, Traditional Rod and Kulture, Car Kulture Deluxe, Rod andCustom, Hot Rod. But I only buy one or two a month on a whim like to read while in the garage relaxing, out fishing, or on the crapper.
Hot Rod (have 'em all back into the mid 50's) Street Rodder - 15 or 20 years worth Rod and Custom -- have a bunch of them too Hemmings Hemmings Classic Cars Hemmings Muscle Cars If I get something out of each issue I figure my money is well spent, probably less than the cost of a GOOD beer --not Bud or Coors lite
Im down to Street Scene and Rodders Journal. Got tired of not knowing when expiration date was. Kept getting those money saving notices. Just got tired I guess. After several months, I still get Street Rodder. I like it, and was a subscriber to it and Rod and Custom for thirty years or more. I enjoy what I get, and love the HAMB also.
