Chevy was thinking of a sliding roof for the Nomad, but there was concerns about leakage, hence the ribs or simulated sliding roof on the 'Mads.

  2. I gotta say a 59 Plymouth Suburban should top the list but then I'm biased.

I don't think anyone mentioned the early 60s falcon 2 door wagons.
    I always liked them.

Not the coolest, the even rarer two door version would be cooler but since none exist and this is probably the only 61 Meteor wagon even left i'm stuck with four doors. If i don't sell it i'll be converting it into a two door after some other projects are done.

57 Ford Del Rio Ranch Wagon. My dad bought one in 57. As a kid I hated it. Boy I wish I had it now. Would consider trading my 57 Custom 300 for one. I'll have to add any ht station wagon. 2 or 4dr. That Mercury 2dr ht wagon I saw earlier in this thread is just plain cool.

  11. ..the 52-4 Ford wagons are my favorite wagons!...nice lines, yers is a dandy.

  12. I would not say it’s the Coolest Station Wagons of all time, but I like this Wagon. This pick is from Redondo Beach a couple years ago, perhaps somebody seen it or know the owner.

The Chevado! He used to live near my shop, had about three or four of those Nomad bodies in his yard, I guess for spare parts. Olds Toronado drivetrain in back, nothing up front = wheelstands all day long.

i'm partial to the 51-54 Chrysler T&C wagons. they had a slightly chopped look straight off the line.

I'd take either the 57 Buick Caballero or a 57 Olds Super 88 with a J-2 under the hood. Then the safari or Nomad .

With a lug nut missing on the wheel, it could be the owners hearse in the future. :D

One of the nicest custom Nomads I've seen. It belongs to someone here on the HAMB. That color is perfect.

C'mon people. When someone asks for the best xxx of "all time," surely you know that the HAMB-friendly criteria still applies, do you not?

And I have seen several T-Bird wagon conversions and this one is my least favorite so far:

  28. Sorry if I upset you, I admit it looks as a hearse. I just kind to like this heap, and just want to share.

I wouldn't worry to much about the traditional police, they still haven't come to terms with overhead valves.
