Bob, you've got me on this! I know what Eddie R. did to Billy Durant's brother, but I didn't know he had a particular gripe about another automaker. PLEASE fill us in, bro!

Life as envisioned in a fanciful Coke ad from 1956. Heck, we all knew the ad
world usually presented a rosy picture of life -- not always the way it really was!
 But somehow little stuff like that didn't bother us (though we probably drank
more Cokes!;)). Everything seemed better or bigger through the eyes of an
advertising agency! Hey, look below! People outdoors, not sweating, no dirt,
and there's a convenient hitching post and a chuck wagon (chuck truck?)
available with cold COKE! What could be more realistic, huh? :D

Ah, Cuba in 1956! Back then, just another Coke-drinking nation.:) Let's all sing
"Kumbaya"! Hey, THAT is just what we need to quell the angst over us guys talking
about coconuts!:p A big HAMB GROUP HUG:eek:, followed by roasting Stay Puft
marshmallows and singing a few rounds of "Kumbaya" around the fire at Camp
    Waconda! :D

Listen to its Short version, thanks to Wikipedia (hope this opens, or we may just have to sing
    it from memory).

Anyone notice in picture #68039 the model A pickup with 28 29 style fenders and headlights and 30 31 style cab?

  15. It doesn't get much sweeter than a series 1 E-type.

  16. LOL Edit!! I was looking at the wrong photo. It looks like a 30-31 too me smooth cowl and all. Maybe those are 28-29 fenders kinda hard to tell from that angle.
Scatch that. After looking closer you can see the line in the splash apron above the running board that tells us its a 30. The front part of the apron on a 30 is part of the front fender.

Apart from the above E-Type Keith (seen with Anita and son Brandon) also had 'Blue Lena':

Just my opinion, but I think Lee Iacocca had more to do with undermining the Corvair than Ralph Nader. Introduction of the Mustang knocked sales for a loop, and GM didn't have the cojones to continue marketing the positives of the car. I loved my Corvairs, and had them up through the 90s. I really didn't want one until they changed the rear suspension, and didn't get one until they changed the body style. Then I was hooked.

All sorts of interesting with this one.

The cowl appears to be a '28 or '29, it is missing a visor but the back wall of the cab appears to be the proper '30-'31 Pickup style based on the curves and the window size. The wheels are the '30-'31 19" but it has a drum tail light mounted on the rear fender which is not original. It is also missing the sidemount spare. So, yeah, my guess is that it is a frankenstein.

The Corvairs were easy. How about spot the Ford Falcons. There are at least two in the photo.

  25. It looks like a smooth cowl to me and since it's not a 4dr Sedan i.m.o. its a '30/'31.

  27. If taken literally, does it mean there is a speed limit for the next 30 miles? I wonder how many MPH it is? Betcha the copper could provide details :D

What was the years of these? I kinda remember we did some minor work on a very similar car in maybe 1967-8 at GMI. It was a non operating show car at that time. Could this be possible?

The Fordor Cowl in '28-'29 had a steeper rise on the top panel above the gastank which is evidenced here, the belt moulding on the cowl also looks to be '28-'29 as it doesn't match up quite right with the '30-'31 doors. I'm thinking it is cobbled together with various pieces.

That's kind of the fun part of this thread, dissecting decades old pictures.

  30. Joey Heatherton seems to have been overlooked in the "hot sexpot" category. Once married to footballs Lance Rentzel, she was hotty!
