  3. This is the setup I am installing now. Got the intake from Snyders and smoothed and polished it.
    Did the exhaust in jet-hot.
Was trying to stay period correct but got overwhelmed by shiny things as I sometimes do....

  8. Bump for some info....

Picked up a Burns 2x2 for a Model A/B. What engine mods are needed to make this jewel work right?

    More compression and a cam.

  10. Thanks, Pete! How hard would this setup be on good babbits?

I also have a Mallory dual-point unit for it as well. That oughta help, too....right?

    The Mallory will definetly help.
As far as engine longeviety with that setup, it should last a long time.
As with any engine it depends a lot on how hard you run it, how accurately it was machined and the quality of the parts used.

  12. Here's my "new" Burns 2x2...

  13. Havent checked in here for a while. Hows your banger going Brett?

  14. Did a little troubleshooting on the electrical. Traced it down to a bad point set. I'm backing up a bit and getting ready to insert the Mallory unit and convert to 12v Negative ground. I'm also stripping and cleaning several of my 94s to get two matched internally for the intake. Compton is going to help me weld up a set of stainless 4-to-2 headers. Looking for a economical speed head.

I hope to have the tudor ready for a couple cameo appearances this spring. We'll see.....

Look at the You tube video and see the running of this head conversion.
Might know someone who might have one for sale, new and unused...

SJR I have done that same cam shaft change from timing gears to sprockets and chain which will rev the cam standard early V8 oil pump which now spins correct and dissy Mallory make one that works in rev can not remember the part number
Note do not use a B model block the ports are too thin and will crack
A model block works great just not open the twin ports
You can expect big jump in power

That's a cool set up. If I ever gets the founds for a banger, this will be my build sheet!

Lions heads is so cool, and so are SU on a banger!

Twin SU carbs: That's a familiar sight to a pommie car customiser!
Got two sets (or maybe 3) in my garage! Not for banger though.

Familier to Danes too! They should fit from a smaller mill, and is very adjustable fuel wise. Remember how smal stock carbs are and these are avalible from 1 inch to 2 1/12 inch.

Mixing and matching is the way to go.

  24. This one followed me home recently.
Were EVANS Repopped or is this an original?

  27. I'd almost forgotten about this thread, sold my Model A, 3 years ago.

Now I'm looking to run a triple carb manifold on OT engine, and have found a very nice finned one.

Speaking of triple carbs, I see a few bangers have popped up here with triples, you don't see many of those, and I guess they are mostly homemade manifolds, but I wonder if anyone manufactured a banger one?

  28. There was a 3/2 manifold made for the Crager 4 port setup. Been too long ago. I don't remember if Crager also made the manifold.
How about another Evans with 97's ? Forgive the plastic jugs. They're to keep bugs & dust out of the Scott tops.

  29. Do you have pics of your linkage setup? Also is the a repop manifold? Were they repoped?

  30. Hey Tiny, I don't think it's a repop. There's a very old brass plug in it where a vacuum line for a windshield wiper used to go.
I'll see if I can get some good pics of the linkage tomorrow.
