Seems like a neglected or forgotten part of the frame build, but what are you guys doing for wishbone mounts? I'm referring to the mounts on the side of the frame here. I ordered the generic Speedway ones, but want to do something cool. Any ideas? Let's see yours! (Building a '29 on a '32 frame here)
I plan to use original Model A tie rod ends, but desiding on the best looking mount location is still unknown.
Location's easy enough to figure, but for those of us doing an underframe mount instead of a through-frame mount, I'd like to see some ideas rather than just slapping on the Speedway mounts and calling it "good enough".

I think the reason that the wishbone mounts might appear to be neglected or forgotten, is that most guys don't want to draw attention to them. Sometimes a really creative, unique and well engineered part can look really awesome and trick on it's own, but on the car it can create a visual distraction and detract from the overall impact of the car. Keep it clean, basic, simple, strong and painted the same color as the frame...can't go wrong. Leaves you with more time and creative energy for other parts of the car that need it more. However, there are exceptions and some guys have really impressed me, including Bass's work that was already posted. I like that as well, if you can get away with it! ...might be a challenge with anything other than a Ford trans/x-member. With split bones, how about mounting them to the underside of the X member just inboard of the framerail for a clean "intact wishbone look"? My pal jrblack30 is doing this on his '34 3w with an early cad v8/t5.
