Not a build of mine, but sold them the cab in 1987. A couple of guys from Omaha (Same ones that built the famed Mr T) bought a 29 Model A pickup cab from me that ended up in HRM, I can not remember if it was on the cover or not. It was a Yellow Highboy in one of the 1989 issues. I have the magazine in a box in storage. Rod

Does it count if I shot someone else's car for a cover? :)

I got 1/2 page in color in Easyriders Magazine, not the cover. The weird part is my sons and I were riding a Cushman Motorscooter and sidecar---and Easyriders is a Harley magazine!

  14. I've had some cars featured in magazines but just 3 were on covers.

    Chopped 40 Merc - 1001 Custom & Rod Ideas, 1980 & Street Rodder, June 1982.

29 roadster pickup - Rodders Digest, April 1992 & American Rodder Best of the Best,1998.

32 roadster pickup - Motorbooks Christmas Catalog, 2007.

My Nova was the cover car on Super Chevy's Nova Special Oct 2001. I had the center story too.

My 15 minutes of fame. It's all been downhill from there.

Not my car, but a car I designed and built for hudson48.
It was featured on the covers of two international magazines, and in several others in Australia and around the world.

I'm showing this to show how much work is put into shooting a car for a magazine. This photo shoot was done for a center fold in Street Rodder. It took right at 6 hours and about 200 shots. They have to work at not having any shadows where there not wanted. The car is put in on rollers so there are no tire marks, our foot prints on the floor were re painted. Details like this is somthing you wouldn't think about unless you got to see it in person. My point is these guys put a lot of work in these things we thumb threw.

Obviously not one of my cars, but one of my bikes. It didn't make the cover, but it's my favorite magazine photo shoots.

Just hit the shelf today....

The one from Detroit Autorama was inside Street Rodder, not on the cover.

Glad he didn't.... ;) I did credit him in the article for the help he offered on running down some of the history.

    Thanks.
