First time I saw a photo of a Beacon was in the Vintage Tin section of Rod & Custom in the early seventies; it was a weathered but pretty complete two-door sedan. If I can find the issue I'll post a scan.

They can disagree all they want. It's going to be a hot rod anyways. No need to preserve every single detail of the car, rare or not. :)

Well all of you guys that think it should be presserved could pull your money together buy it and then it could get stock piled in someones garage or basement for the next 20 years .... or..... maybe sit back and watch this interesting piece of iron being transformed into a unique hot rod that will probably be driven and enjoyed by the owner! You know to each his own. Josh great work and looking forward to seeing the top lowered. Keep up the good work!

You would be able to lower the top considerably, and still have room inside.

This is a picture of my car when purchased by its second owner in 1966. I'm told that the original owner was 6'9" and fit nicely. I'm 6'5" and have plenty of room above my head with the 2" spacer under the seat, added by the second owner who kept the car for 44 years. I am the third owner.

Can you identify the vehicle in the car's reflection?

Great photo Barry! Nice to have a car with known history. My guess on the car in the reflection is a 1920's Model T, and I think it is a Tudor sedan. Bob

I could use a new gas/temp gauge. Is he using the old gauge?

I am not sure what he is using and not using. I am sure he probably has some original parts he would want to sell. I am not in direct contact with him, but I will try and get you to together. PM your details and I will pass them along.

Tracer, the little coupe is neat as hell, if I had the room I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately I have a project in my garage now that I don't have the time for.

I was in the shop when he owner showed up with the car. Josh , my son, was walking around the car while i was talking to the owner. He told me how he got from the Dayton area. What is really neat about the build is the owner is 78 yrs young!

That will drive the AACA restoration people nuts, knowing that that kid "ruined" a rare car. Bob

The driver's side quarter and wheel well were by far the worst spots on the car.

Cut out all the outer rot and the inner sub-rail was pretty rough too.

I made a couple pieces and fixed the inner and covered in some black sealer.

As you can imagine, no one is making patch panels for this. So I built one from scratch. It is hard to see in this picture, but the lower bead is much deeper than the wheel arch bead.

Mine. I learned something today. I thought the first three numbers were a date code. Apparently it's a body style, followed by the sequential number. These were both early cars as the numbers started at 1001 for each body style.
