I recently went to Good Guys this past October. I was looking at the mid 50s F100s, and noticed many people had filled under where the bed comes up and rolls. To make it all one piece and smooth, they also did the same thing on the ends of the rolls. Does anybody know the easiest way to do this, also any pictures?

Replace it with a piece of pipe or tubing and cap it.

What about under the tubes? Would you just weld a piece of flat metal from the bed to the tube?

Can you buy just the "teardrops" for the end of the bed rail? If not, what do you use to make them?

So you just welded a piece of flat medal to the side of the bed and to the hand rail? Did you weld all of it or tac it and then bondo it? Also how did you do the tear drop on the end rail, and in what gauge? Thanks for the pictures!

I considered doing what you're talking about when I built my bed, but decided it would be way more trouble than it was worth. I just welded in the teardrop section and left the hole for a light.

Did you make the tear drops or is there a place to buy them?

I made them. I used thicker steel so that it would have a little body when viewed from the side. You can see a little more detail by looking at my build at the link below.

I've also got some detail in my gallery on FTE.........User name Drewski 2
