1953 Ford F-100 Stock suspension. No body mods. Caravan front buckets. Mild 350 chevy with a turbo 350. Stock Steelies. Little of chrome. Will be paint gun metal gray single stage. Being built in the garage with great friends and some beer. Nothing to wild just a fun little hot rod. Just wanting to know if it is the line of traditional.

Ditch the caravan bucket seats, and keep the hood closed.

  4. Warning, this thread may turn very ugly. Hope you have a tube of Skin Thickener handy...

I'd say it's traditional in that it's what you have, and you're building it yourself...

I get crap from the guys I work with for the motor choice but it is what I had available. Just having fun. First major project I have done. Got the truck as a bare cab and no motor or trans.

  6. Your going to catch crap from guys here,,but just keep on building and grow thicker skin.

Hundreds of sbc's in Fords,,nothing new about that,,your just asking for it with the title of your thread! HRP

Who knows? I'm building a 30 Ford sports coupe right now. I'm putting in a 38 Chevy dash that I had. It has a billet gauge panel. It also has the 30 seat in it.

I had a friend come over this weekend and he says pull out the billet and put in a Caravan seat. I like my friend, but that's not going to happen.

You just can't worry about everyone, just make yourself happy.

Traditional? Honestly it sounds like it's just... an old truck.

And there's nothing wrong with that. That's exactly what my F1 was before I started really working toward making it better. (Lowered, chrome reverse, wide whites, Plymouth bumpers, etc.)

My opinion....screw the catagories (traditional etc) and build what you want with whatever you want! Some will love it, and some will always hate it....but who cares!! it's yours!! Have fun!

it is close to traditional. depends on wheels and tire selection and as stated ubove the canvas seats and sbc are the to deviants to the traditional vibe. i understand the sbc, but a local has a 51 f1 with a 223 dual carbs and a header, it ist fast but it is the coolest shop truck around. keep going with it

  13. Well, this site is a TRADITIONAL site so there is a certain criteria to try and adhere and focus on. HRP

Let's see. You are building it with great friends and beer? That's about as good as it gets . Good luck and have fun all that matters and don't get more traditional than that
