any sugestion paint new wheel vintique smoothys

got my new firestone delux champions and new wheel vintique smoothy wheels and want them to turn black. they come with powder coat primer. I have a bunch of rustolium rattle cans. would that hold up (fair weather cruiser) or should I mix up some auto paint and shoot em.(hate the mess) and I dont want to powdercoat. howd all you guys do it?

 

Spray paint should work just fine, if you scrape them up they will be easy to fix.

yep spray bomb. spend a few bucks for the better thicker stuff not the buck a can crap at walmart. that's how I did mine in my avatar

 

Warm the rattle cans in hot water and they spray much better.

Prep and rattle can. The key is PREP.

 

I would not paint them with Rustoleum oil base paint...but that's me. You paid good money for the nice set of wheels. I suggest going down to your nearest automotive paint store and have two aerosol cans mad up of high quality paint...HOK, PPG, etc. That way you'll have extra in case one gets scratched up. May even want to get some clear coat while you are at it.

 

Ive got the rustolium hard hat brand rattle cans.

 

spray bomb works, just get some with high solids such as Lawson Products
