To all that post pictures and stories here, I thank you :D

I've always been a huge fan of the early Stock and Super Stock class cars from the early days and really want to build one some day.
But for now, I just build them in a,,,, slightly smaller size. There are days I wonder if it's any cheaper though. Some of these old model kits can get expensive.

Thanks again for the great reading.

    I love the '61 Dodge. I have a 1961 Dodge Pioneer D-500. 361-V8 with a manual three-on-the-tree...

What a great car! Is it the real deal? This Ford guy has been trying to learn more about the Hemi cars. So this would be an RO car, right?

I am the original poster of the Sutton car photo. There is also a partial (color) photo of that car taken at Fremont that I posted on P43 of this thread. i also posted a photo of the Blair's car on P42, post #822 which was also taken @ Fremont.

Put new Hoosiers on the rear of my 63 the other day and drove it about 100 miles cruisin around going over my brothers place. I plan to hit the track in May and see how good these tires will hook. So many awesome cars in this thread. Ron

Here is an ad on page 1 of the December 1959 Motor Trend for the Plymouth Sonoramic. FWIW it says "the first ram induction engine in a production car!"

The same issue has a 2500 mile Detroit to LA road test of a D-500 383 ram induction Dodge Dart (not the compact Dart).

So that would them both 1960 Model year

I would guess this shot is from 64 based on the companion photos you have on post #764. On the pic it looks like this car is in front of the Missile. Love your pics!!!

My posted date says 1965, taken off the notes I have on the back of my photos. I could have waited till the new year to get the film developed or maybe it was actually shot in early 1965. Powers was a regular at the track. Remember, Calif weather allowed racing almost all year long and Fremont often was open in Dec and Jan, except for the holidays. I was a regular attendee @ both Fremont & Half Moon Bay between 1962 and 1966 when I moved out of the area. I rarely took a camera - usually only when I had some shots left over from family shoots etc. and needed to use up the rest of the film. Think I'm kicking myself over that 50 years later? You bet.
