Bizarre "top shift" style Eelco shifter to fit sideshift 38-54 Cad/LaS/ and 1950 Olds transmissions.

Came from an old Gas Class Olds powered 37 chev coupe. The owner cut down the slip-on chromed handle. I also made a slip-on old Ford truck shift lever to fit it.

Tiny paper "Speed Shift by Eelco" lable that was barely still glued to the shifter body, is shown also.

Expand pic 3 to see the "EELCO Pat Pend" stamping

I see this is an old thread... but here are three Eelco bare foot shift knobs and you can also see the "el toro" shift knob on the shelf below. I love Eelco stuff and have a few more items and I also loves me some vintage Cal Custom goodies too (a whole other post.)

  7. My Eelco coffin style fuel block on my J-2 tri-power setup. I have never seen another one yet.
Bruce--Those patent pages are pretty damn cool. Simple and neat stuff. I really like the shifter handle. I may just have to make one for my project now after seeing that. Thanks

A lot of Offenhauser products had "PAT PENDING" on the castings. When asked, Fred would say that he had a pattern maker by the name of Patrick Pending who signed his work. Fred and Els were long time drinking buddies and sitting in on their sessions was a real treat,

  24. My favorite Eelco part is this SBC oil pan. I ran it on my car for a while but recently took it off because it had no baffling and was very heavy. I wanted to keep the front end of my car as light as I can and I could picture the oil sloshing into the spinning crank on launch.

eelco.JPG Some look for tanks to put on their car. I collect tanks and then find and build cars to hand them on. Yes, I'm one of the Eelco collectors out there.
