Just throwing this out there for everyone: The next time you wash your car, take a couple minutes to soak your floor jack with Simple Green, Purple Stuff or whatever, and then hose off years of grease, grime and oil-soaked garage dirt.
My 20 year old Craftsman floor jack hasn't looked this good in...19 years.
It doesn't look new (some paint missing and other battle damage), but it's CLEAN, and in my shop, anything CLEAN looks new. (doesn't last long)
I'm taking it to the races this weekend, and wanted it clean so I didn't get everything in the back of the Suburban dirty, otherwise I'd have never thought about it.

A clean jack is the sign of a sick mind.
And MY Craftsman jack is older then yours! Mine has earned its dirt.
And where are the pictures? You really don't expect us to believe you actually cleaned your jack off?

I have a super old Craftsman jack also. Bought it at a yard sale. It worked great but man it was dirty.

    I cleaned it up.

    Now it leaks.

  5. Get a Chinese jack.

They don't last long so they're still clean when they die....

I Think this should go into tech. I mean a degreaser used to remove grease. Holy shit. I guess next we should have a post on the amazing idea that putting a wrench around a bolt and turning it can both loosen or tighten it depending on which direction it rotates. I hate to leave everyone in suspense on weither lefty loosens or tighten, but my 3 paragragh tech post isn't written yet but I want to make it is crystal clear for every one.

I can understand that, one must clean up after you take your jack off of the bench. Clean up where your jack was too, that builds up and can get nasty!
You can jack anywhere, anytime, just remember to clean up after!!
