Event Coverage Southwest Nostalgia Drags..Last One....Maybe

We've got The Western Fuel Altereds coming in, the ANW A/FX group from Ca. , the Flathead and Inliners, the Four Banger Group..a few of Scott Dapron's recent magazine featured race cars,, plus the wheelstanding Stock and Super/Stockers and who knows what else.

Mini bike drags, flagdrop drags( last chance to shut down Rick DuPont's all conquering Model A ) plus a big car show as usual..

we will be there with our new hamb/sdra slant 6 dragster.... along with my 1930 chevy 3 window and marks 1937 chevy truck ..... you guys always put on a good show

 

I should be working on the Model A instead of reading threads... It's coming along and should be ready soon. As should Bryan's Buick, he's making some radical new parts for it. Lowell came by the shop today and he's fired up to have a go in The Scrambler.

I need some flyers so let me know when we hook up Mark or Spike....

As Mark said this looks like it will be one of our best events yet........See you Guys and Gals at the track.

I'm hoping and praying that the state will allow someone to step in and sign a new lease for the "DRAGSTRIP ONLY" once the "DUST & DIRT" clears and the current lease holder is gone. I've been racing at this track since I was a kid, my kids have been going since they were young and are now racing. I now have two grandsons that love this place and I would love to someday watch them race out there as well.

 

See you guys there. I have made a lot of progress with the nova since november.

 

Wow, if Speedworld closes where will you Phoenix guy have to go to race, Firebird closed as well didn't it? Guess I better mark my calendar, I've enjoyed going to Speedworld, will have to take in the last one.

 

Firebird isn't closed but its future is uncertain at this time.

 

Thats sad news that the strip is closing...I had a lot of good times there over the years...

so the last day for the firebird operating team is March 30th....you are in on 04-13, so that means someoene at some level is going to be operating the track. That is great news.

 

Glen , The last day for Charlie Allen and company is April 6th, and they are booked up solid until then.
Our event will be the first with the new management, except possibly a T&T , Friday night, the 12th.

 

congrats Mark.....I look forward to a good time. I live about 5 miles from the track.
