The excitement of auto racing was often connected to products that had no real connection. As an example, here's a race car fitted with denim covers on the tires.

  3. So....I'm guessing that's where the "blue groove" on the dirt track came from.........

Here's a magazine cover showing an everyday scene with a lot of character. Maybe the next car will stop for these guys.

In an auto trade magazine, Life magazine placed a multi-page ad on heavy paper in the centerfold. They showed a photo and caption from each of their auto-related advertisers. The goal, apparently, was to entice companies in the auto service business to advertise in Life. Here's the image they selected for Plymouth.

Thank You rbantique !!! Not only is this the Best Picture Thread I have ever viewed but it also brings back Great Memories.
At age 65, I can remember many of the cars shown and I admit the are some from before my time.
Again Thanks for your Dedication and your Time.........................33sporttruck

Just because something is in a magazine doesn't mean that it's good. Still, this one is kind of interesting...even if only to see what doesn't "work" in body design.

  19. ^^^^^It's too bad we can't replicate some of this art and put it on t-shirts today. How many of us would buy at least one or two of the shirts in that ad? God, I drank a tanker full of Boone's Farm!!
