Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Schwartz Inc., Oct 26, 2012.

  1. This isnt quite traditional but I thought some of you might apreciate it. We are using all C4 corvette suspension. This has been a nice project so far! IMG-20121026-00109.jpg

I don't know enough to be able to tell what's going on. But the craftsmanship is very nice!

Like it, did you purchase the mandrel bent rect frame tubing ? Wher do you find that?
Wish I had your frame jig.
Looks really well built to this point!

I actually built a 32 chevy coupe with 92 corvette suspension and drive train back in about 96. The handled like a dream on road courses and was fairly respectable on the quarte mile. Nice work and you are gonna like the handling of that package.

  6. 34toddster. I purcased the frame curves from Welder Series. I believe they are a member here!
Thanks for the kind words. The 5 speed transmission will be in tomorrow so i can finish up the X member.

  11. Damn nice work. My old 57 handled good with what I had, but I am sure nothing like what this one will.

    Hey Grant,
Great job on the frame, Bud. I wouldn't have expected anything less from you. Has the Volvo left the building yet??? Good to see you on this board. Are you headed to Detroit in March? If so stop by and say Hi. The ELTA boys will be in the basement. Oh say Hi to the other Grant for me if you see him. By the way check your PM's OK

  14. Thanks for the compliments guys! Message returned Rochie!!

What holds the front end up? Electro-magnets? Air turbulance creating a vacuum?

Lookin like a sweet truck so far! Keep it up!

  19. Hey Guys!
Sorry about the "GIANT" pics! lol!
Alchemy. The front end is set up to take the stock mono leaf. Which is not installed in the pics. It was a lot of extra work to incorporate the stock leaf. Most guys just use coil overs and/or use the original corvette crossmember.
The customer specified that he wanted to stay with the stock leaf spring and not use the stock crossmemmber.

  20. Exwestracer. I purchased the "frame curves" from welder series. They have them in many different sizes. All nicely laser cut and ready to weld.
