It seems like these guys get together monthly to partake in some kind of beastly ritual of meat eating. They call themselves the "Meatheads" and they like them some BBQ. I've never had the opportunity to tag along, but found myself with an empty Satu...

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
Used to do a bike ride every Sunday here to different Q joints. Might be time to do it in Hot Rods and Customs. Though there doesn't seem to be as many that want to drive them here.
My wife and I had a fun day with the Meatheads. We put over 300 miles on the Model A and even got to try out the new toll road from Seguin to Austin. It's a nice smooth slab of concrete with an 85 mph speed limit. Still, it's kinda weird to be going nearly 90 and see a police officer. I instinctively let off, but then laughed at myself when I realized I wasn't going to get nailed. Back on the pedal happily up to 89-ish again. It was good to see everyone and the BBQ in Taylor was wonderful. We stood in line at the original destination what seemed like forever but it was well worth it.
I spent my weekend shovelling 2 feet of snow and self-flagellating with an uncooperative shoebox build that is way off the rails. I log in here on Monday morning after my 2 hour commute to hell and you slam me face-down into a steaming plate of brisket. Thanks Ryan, you heartless bastard.
I wish I could have been there, but Grandpa duty came first this weekend...........sounds like ya'll had a grea time!
Is that Gary's own ride I spy in the background of picture #18 getting some changes? Not to mention the Black Dahlia being changed up a little as well?
that restaurant reminds me of a place, when as a kid, you thought you were hot shit when you were big enough to sit and have your elbows on the bar.
All we have for Q around here is the national chains. The one independant is circling thedrain due to a venue change. Hard to get families to come eat in a dump biker bar.
Sounds like my kind of joint. I'm a meat fancier myself and down home style BBQ is about tops on the list for ways to enjoy it. Add a nice ride in a cool car into mix and it is just about a perfect way to pass the day.
Had a great time. Always nice to accidentally find a diamond in the rough. Vencil's was a pleasant surprise and glad that I splintered off from the main pack. Can't wait until the Thursday Round up BBQ.
DaddyO and I had a great time down there with you guys. Thanks for Scotty for turning us on to it. That was some really good BBQ.
I stayed back with some of the gang since I'd never been to Louie Mueller... it was worth the wait. Snagged this pic taken by Devin ... some of our rides out front.
