Congrats man I love it! My 55 was in California till the 80's then sat in Ohio so the body quickly forgot its dry climate past. I expect zero rust on this one? From the pics all the normal trouble areas are solid.

The caps, bezels, lenses ect are all in the car.

Thanks I am on cloud nine

Thanks, Short term clean the hell out of it, get it running, and drop it with chrome capless smoothies and drive it. Long term is not fully HAMB friendly but not cookie cutter SBC and mustang II either. Perfect body paint and chrome modern suspension, bigger wheels with old school look and overdrive with vintage air. The engine will stay or maybe a J2 or similar but converted to custom fuel injection

Sorry not everyone can afford a restored car. I have looked for a year for a 54 2dr HT that was in my budget and not rusted in to the ground.

Spare tire well and the c-pillar like yours is the only rust on the car

Its all there and 100% original and not frozen. Fingers are crossed it will run with little effort.

    Thanks man!

Thanks it will be a while. I have to finish a 68 442 I am working on to sell and get a friends truck running that I will make a few bucks toward this one before I am going to let myself touch it?

  17. Not everyone gets a fully restored car given to them, cut him some slack.

He meant the OP was expecting a lesser car. And was happily incorrect.

  19. Another Olds saved! Fantastic! Wonder what she would look like if you washed it with CLR?
Might surprise you. Post up some pics when you have it cleaned up. Congrats man, nice project.

My Olds looked just like that out of a 19 yr junkyard sleep, after ALOT of elbow grease it was running in 2 weeks and attended its first car show 57 days after bringing it home, Good Luck with it !

    Thanks

    I can't wait

The gaps and fit of this car is amazing. Very unmolested just like I wanted

Its in my top 5 I love the lines and look of the front end

    me to thanks

Just soap and water will do it wonders. Most of the brown you see is just dirt.

    thanks man

    thank you

I feel like if I jumped in head first I could do the same. I told myself not to touch it until some other obligations are filled. I also need to finish setting up my shop or I will just keep putting it off. If I have all my lift, air , and electrical ran along with my fab equipment set up this build will go so much faster and smoother. Working on the floor with air hose and extension cords everywhere now and its killing me.

"IF" your going to just start that motor as is ,i would put some marvel mystery oil down the cylinders and i use" on a small block chev" a cut off distributor to prime the oil to prevent a dry start up.Now having said that i don't know about olds dis and oil pump. Our family always had olds said to be poor man's caddy:rolleyes:;)good luck with your build .
