I've got a 1962 Ford Falcon, working on fixing up right now with my pop as a father-daughter thing. He has a 1950 Ford shoebox. The Falcon Runs well, starts right up. 6 cyl automatic, not too big of a project but enough to get my hands dirty.

  2. cool!! sounds like your heading in the right direction, have fun with it!

  3. Congratulations on a great start and a wise choice. I got my grandson a Falcon project for his 16th birthday and we're building it together too.

Welcome from another Falcon person in AZ! We have two threads that you need to check out: "Falcons done right", and "Doing Falcons right". Falcons done right is a great reference to see finished cars and what people have done with theirs, and Doing Falcons right is for the tech questions you might have. We have more Falcon knowledge around here than ANY of the Falcon specific boards I have ever seen! You found the perfect first car to learn and grow with! I've had one of mine since I was your age... Thirty years ago!

  8. Welcome,

These are from the ad put online for the car. It was about an hour from my house. It's too dark and cold to take any better pictures myself tonight. I'll try and get them by tomorrow. Some wiring issues we've discovered as of tonight, nothing on the dash is working, high or low beams are not working, the taillights are also not working. Any ideas on what those issues could be, or the severity? I haven't any other details than that. I was at work after school when my dad was playing around with it.

Welcome from Union Pier, MI. Good luck with you Falcon and have fun, just remember old cars can be challenging but when you succeed it's a great feeling and you know you're the one that fixed it, and it sounds like you have a great dad to share the frustration.

Hi there Madiketch, welcome to the HAMB - good luck with your Falcon build with your dad and enjoy your time here. There's lots of grumpy old men on here, but they think it's just part of their charm - don't worry about them.
    Cheers.

couldn't open your links, got more pics?

  30. Welcome from So Cal. I have had quite a few Falcon's. Ranchero's and Comets. I currently have a 63 Convertible st up for Autocross racing. They are a GREAT first car for a young person wanting to have fun and learn about old cars.
It warms my heart to see kids getting into our hobby at a time when everyone seems to say that isn't happening.
    Enjoy!!
