I have a chance to do some trading with a friend of mine. I am trying trade for my friend"s 1972 Nova 2 door parts car. I have a 1957 Chevy truck short bed stepside with a shot frame on it. I was wondering what the Pros and Cons would be swapping the frames out? I fiqure I would have to raise the Bed bottom up. What about the width and the wheels? I am just talking out loud, but really any input, good or bad would be greatly appreciated. I sure you can all come up with something I have not yet considered. I know it is a major undertaking for sure.

i am pretty sure the nova is a unibody car. meaning no frame. just front subframe and rear subframe.

Thanks, I did not know that. I guess now I would just be using the subframe and maybe the rearend.

Yup! And actually, I'm one of the guys here that would normally say a big NO to subframing a vehicle. But, in this case, that front sub works really well on those trucks and still offers lots of tire room. Go for it. The clip I would use otherwise would be a Jag XJ.

common swap - same as Camaro - plenty on here if you use the search - however, plan out your build before you buy - sometimes forcing cheap or even free stuff to work ends up being more expensive in the end and you don't get the result you want...research first and stick with your plan.

There is a thread here that pops up from time to time by Lux Blue called "How to subframe your Chevy in an afternoon". It's the best I have ever seen on the subject
