I'm installing a pair of Holley 740's (Weber 32 DFTA) on my 235 Chevy. I know this is an OT carb, but I've seen quite a few being used, and they are the same ones Langdon used to sell. I am having a hard time finding a good looking air cleaner that fits them. I can fab up some bases to adapt an air cleaner to them, but I really want an off-the-shelf solution if one exists. Anyone know of anything that fits and looks decent or an adapter to run a standard round air cleaner?
http://www.piercemanifolds.com/category_s/330.htm but don't mention your model and don't look traditional. Langdon had an offset stud and a flat plate to take a turned aluminum housing for 32/36. He still carries it. http://stoveboltengineco.com/catalog/store/#!/~/product/category=361512&id=1222024
I've seen the ones that langdon sells, but the base plate looks different from my carbs. Here's what I'm working with: The diamond shaped base is a holley 5200 I believe.
the little pill box air cleaners do not breath good as they sit right on top of the carb . classic inlines has one i like for webers & more . http://www.classicinlines.com/search.asp
Hole in the Langdon one is 3 x 4-1/2. If yours are bigger, open it up. If not, see if he will sell a couple blank base plates.
Thanks guys... I couldn't really find anything I like that bolts up, so I'm making some air cleaners.
