I hope the Moderators and you guys don't think this is off topic. I was at a buddies house today and he picked up this car and wasn't having any luck finding info. I think its cool. Every year we put on a car show at my church and we give away three one hundred dollar prizes, Pastors Pick, Deacons Pick , and Most Coveted. Well I would like to come up with something like this to go along with the cash prizes to make a cool trophy out of .There is only one marking on it, the number 1 stamped on the bottom of the seat. Any Ideas ?
Probably be appreciated more as-is than if you modify it in any way. Maybe make a glass showcase for it with the car show info on a brass plaque?
Hey Dude, I have one just like that! NO, Really! I have one just like that. Mine has an inscription on the hood that has, "Indiana State Fair, 1946". Under the bottom of the seat depression it is stamped, "N, the number 3 written sideways, and the letter F" Nice to see another one like it. And NO it is NOT for sale. Enjoy! Peace, Chaz
wow. that's really cool. I wouldn't go and make anything out of it. could be worth $50.00 - $100.00 or more. edit: quick search on ebay came up with this guy selling a few similar cars... http://www.ebay.com/sch/db-racer/m....h=item1c2e58f50b&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
That's cool, I had an idea that somebody here could help. But thats what I was afraid of...its to cool and expensive to make a trophy out of.
I have quite a few Indy 500 souviner toy race cars and my guess would be either Little Bill toy Co. out of Chicago or Toby Mfg. do the tires read Firestone on the sidewall ? It is a flat tailed pre war style racer but once a toy was designed they would be made for 5-10 years sometimes .
