First picture is of the original 34 ford pickup dash. It needs patching at the column location and I would need to add a couple gauges below with some sort of stylish gauge panel. Second picture is of (what I was told) a 34 Chevy dash. It's in great shape and has a style that would be awesome when pinstriped. There's more gauge holes and very little metal work (I think) to have a nice fit. Third is a 49-50 ford dash that would take a good bit of metal work. I do have gauges and I would leave the clock in the center. I would also gain a glove box. I'm so wishy washy I can't decide. What do you fellow hambers think. Of coarse ideas are appreciated. I've got a '46 ford Cpe dash that I've started to fill but sold the car. I jumped up to the 60's with a 64 fairlane. I'll send pix if u r interested. BTW I like the last one.
I also vote for the Chevy dash. I like the originals but the Chevy would look cool in there being just enough different to stand out.
the chevy would lood kool, the later ford will take a lot of work to get right. have a '40 in mine, next time i will use a '39 thou. rich
I have a 40 dash for mine, but I'm serously thinking about going back to the original and using a 33 plymouth gauge cluster. FWIW.
I actually have a working clock and 2 non working. I'm saving the working one for my 50. I like clock in the dash working or not. My dad had a 50 that had a tach in place of the clock. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
I used a shubox dash in my 33 pickup..photos enclosed. Used all stock gauges and put a vacuum gauge in clock hole That 2nd dash is a 34 chevy standard dash alright. I'm using one of those in my 34 ford coupe. Welded the botton of the chevy dash to the top of the ford dash. The Champion dash insert fits in the chevy dash if you flip it upside down.
I can't part with that. They seem to be getting hard to come by. If I don't put it in my truck I have a sedan it will go in. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Seems as if I have seen you truck somewhere before. Maybe at the moultrie, ga swap meet? I've slept since then. I like both your ideas. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
don't underestamate the value of a glove box. I put a '39 ford dash in my 30 model A sedan so I'll have some place to put junk.
I think have about decided to use the 34 Chevy dash. I'm gonna start some test fitting Saturday to see if I am going to go thru with it . I guess if I don't like it. I can always put the original back in. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
I've used a 31 Cadillac dash in my last 2 deuce pus. Same cab size. See pictures in the for sale section
