Well after going through double knee surgery and on the mends I decided to sell off my delivery project to pay some dr bills, and have enough cash left over to fund another starter project. Here is what I found and bought today locally in Colorado. It wil take a little work and time, but with my new knees GAME ON. It's a 1926 buick roadster. I am thinking full fendered if possible. I still have a 62 buick 4 barrel 401 nailhead from a past sold project. This one is gonna be fun. Have a look.
Some assembly required, but that roadster with fenders, a full hood, and a 401 would be the coolest car ever. Heal fast - - - - -
That's what I was thinking. I will try to do it proud When I looked at it those visions kept popping up. I hope to have the fastest recovery on record.
politics, but I like it The windshield is split top to bottom which I am gonna try to keep in the build. I know the visor has to stay. Gives it a wicked look
Cool car but if I had a nailhead for in it it would be sans the hood and fenderless and low, but you gotta please you, have fun.
I love the shape of the cowl. I too would lean toward no hood or fenders and like you say, still early & things may change.
I was just looking over all the parts. It has the original 1/4 eliptical springs and all the hardware for the rear suspension, all the door and trunk hardware including hinges for both and most of the top hardware if I use it. I might try for a soft top style? all the original guages, steering collumn and steering wheel spokes I will probably use it.So far so good.
Looks like a ton of work, but will make a killer rod and something you dont see everyday, can't wait to see this one.
Oh, yeah, a nicely-built Nailhead would be a GREAT choice! I can see fully-fendered build with the hood top, but without sides to give folks a glimpse of of that 401
I really like the look of the cowl. Is it a bit bigger than a Ford? I think the coolness of this car will be in how well you rod this car and keep it true to what it is. It's a shame to see cars like this getting a Ford deuce grill shell and Milner coupe proportions. I can see it with a dropped axle stretched forward a little, Buick headlights and a hood top only still showing the nailhead. Maybe 3 2s and frog mouth scoops through the hood. Full fenders and a couple inches out of the windshield height, and if you are keeping the visor, a drop top. For color my vote would be mile deep black. It will take a little bit of glue to say the least. My legs and I haven't felt this good in a long time. True, but I am not a stranger to the early GM builds. I will take a lot of pictures. Thanks... Will do, I can't wait to get started on the mockup. It need it to keep the buick theme going. Thanks Paul. I see you have thought it through also. To bad the headlight are long gone they would be perfect as a finishing touch. Maybe I can locate a set during the build. I will take my time on this one for sure.
