Nice to see an update. 4x2 intakes were always my favorite! Gary

Thanks, but unfortunately it's only on loan from a friend. Taking it to Detroit Autorama " under construction " and needed an intake. I'm going to try and talk him out of it though. I think it looks better than the 6 carb Offenhauser I have. He offered me a 6 carb McGurk but this just seemed cooler. Go figure.

  3. That thing sits just perfect, you definitely have an eye for proportions too. Oh and you can't go wrong with a 4x2, probably the best looking sbc intake made in my opinion.

Thanks fellas, I'm real happy with the proportions too but I have to say my brother has a big hand in that with me, it's what he does for a living. Exhaust will be Rams Horns with exhaust all the way out the back end. With some smithy's or porters. Kinda been shootin for the "just ditched my flattie cause I scored this 283 at the bone yard / late 50's look".

Did you replace the whole steering column for that steering wheel. I have a wood wheel from a Dart that I was going to put in my AA that looks similar but wanted to try and keep the same column and box. This is a great thread, and the picture of the cab and the bed on is exactly how I want mine to look.

Thank you for posting this thread, this is a great project and a lot of details and tips. I'm just starting a 1930 pickup, have most of the cab and frame, but still in the design phase. Your insight is perfect, it's a great help. I hope you get to feeling better soon

Just found this thread, it took some time to read it through. Great stuff! Just curious, will the brake/clutch pedals be F1 as well?

Well, moving along nicely here. Brakes are finally done, bled and work great. Driveshaft shortened, balanced and installed. Funny, the 42-47 open drive pinion yoke and the powerglide trans yoke I'm using in my 39 top shift style open drive trans use the exact same U-Joint. So did the driveshaft I had laying around. So I got out of the driveshaft shop for $110 for shorten, balance and 2 new U-Joints. Anyway, engine is in, timed, and ready to rock. Got the majority of the wiring done yesterday. Just gotta hook up the battery, voltage reg, ballast resistor, radiator and grillshell. The doors need to be chopped too but I'm gettin real close. I want to hear it run so bad. Trying to get this thing goin with all the health problems I have has been a real challenge. Here's a couple pics of the almost together engine.

Walked into the shop today, my brother is so cool. I took the last 2 days to hang with my kid, she's 16 and lives with me full time. She's been real cool about fending for herself while I try to get this thing driving. Anyway, my brother, who's always a big help, hooked up the wood floor for the box! I think it's awesome! Not finished yet but way cool. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1373935424.253115.jpg

Thanks fellas, wiring (except head and tail lights) is done. Mounting the fuel pump and running the lines tomorrow. Getting real close to that first ride!
