My big garage dog. She's been around the cars and the garage since she was a wee little pup.. not much phases her.. she'll fall asleep on the garage floor even with all the banging, grinding, and racket going on.

Wheelnut46, what kind of copilot do you have there? Looks similar to Jager.

Libby likes to ride.... the jingle of car keys gets her stirred up.

Our old Malamute/Husky mix Link. When we visited the Husky rescue, while all the other dogs attacked me for attention, he just came over, sat, leaned against my leg and looked up at me with this forlorn, "Get me outta here, please." look. Couldn't say no to that. He was 6-7 years old when we got him and he gave us 5 awesome years. He loved riding in the 65 Chevy truck, even if he didn't quite fit in the bucket seat. Been over a year now, still miss him everyday.

Mabel left us yesterday. I had wanted to take her on a road trip, just us two, when my truck was done. I'll be taking her ashes with me on my trip to Texas. ImageUploadedByTJJ1363928882.402785.jpg

So sorry about the loss of your Mable. It's a good idea to take her ashes along.

    Sorry man....

My wife bought new bowls for all the dogs, and I started to throw away Kasey's old one, it was getting kinda crusty. Then I realized it was the first bowl we bought her when she's was a pup, and the only one she's ever eaten out of, it even has her name on it. I decided I am going to clean it up and mount it on the wall in my garage, kind of a memento.

The ashes idea is great. You ought to put some in a little vial and hang it from your rear view...then she can always cruise with you....

That is the sadest part of pet ownership - outliving them and having to say goodby!

Thanks for the kind words. She left us way too soon and we weren't prepared. There is a lesson there...

it doesn't matter how old they are this is always the case! reading this scratching my 5 year old golden. He's a big brute of a pain in the butt and I will miss him like crazy when his day comes.

guys have said a vial, what about casting you're own resin shift knob mixed with some ashes?? every time you go through the gears it's like another good ole scratch!

  23. Can't believe this thread is this old and I've never opened it before.Had to post a pic of my faithful dog Muttley(who left us a couple years ago at the age of 18)observing our entry into the Ty-Rods Old Timer's Reunion when it was still in Hudson. My thanks to Dennis O'Brien for taking this pic and sending it to me.
She always accompanied us on our cross country runs in the Safari preferring to lay in my wife's lap for most of the way.I used to open the sliding rear windows slightly to let her clean out her nose.

  26. Here's my buddy Gypsy. She's a almost 4 year old black lab/border collie mix. She's the sweetest, quiet dog. She follows me everywhere. :)

This is my girlfriend's dog, but he likes to ride as much as mine. He just prefers the fronts seat, while mine prefers the back.

  28. Hi All,

This thread really helped when we lost Annie last year. I couldn't get my mind straight about getting another Lab, but we did it.
We adopted Cassidy! she will be 2 years old in May and she lost her right front leg when she was a pup. She is a sweetheart....I think my other lost Labs sent her here. Some pics below, she has made herself right at home and thats good....she had a tough time until now.

Also....If you never had a dog....you just might not understand...but this will help. Turn your sound on.
