picked up my new toy today

    Thanks for all the kind words. The car has a 4 speed already and a buddy has a 454 which we will put in this week just to get it on the road. Long term, nothing says cool like a blower so that's the plan but that may take a few months.

    Great looking car!
    What on it is "set up for a big block"? Since the sbc and bbc take the same mounts, etc., is it maybe just mounts set forward a bit for clearance, or a larger radiator?
     
  10. That's a hell of a wait but it sure paid off, might want to check the rear tire clearance before it squats and chews them up on ya.

    Looks fine to me? I've had several Tri 5's with shackles up front (as they were on most 50's Chevy pickups) and never had a problem.
    Here's the setup that Nickey sells for Tri 5 straight axle front clip. Notice the shackle location?:

    Bought a 454 on Craigslist just to get her on the road. Kid wanted 900.00 and I gave him 200.00. Score. Thing sounds and runs great Now to deal with the brakes
