Formerly the Starbird Show, this indoor event kicks off the car hobby season in our part of the world with our big swap meet coming up in a couple of weeks to follow. Here are some of my many photos from yesterday.
It is common to see things made from sheet metal and rivets in an area famous for aircraft manufacturing...
I wish they would have use the reversed merc wheels and correct slicks when they built the "T". All that effort to recreate an icon, and overlook such important details, bolt on details non the less. Thanks for the pics Paul, love the dragster too!
"A Clown and a Clown Car" me, in other words.... wishing I could buy the engine from this car as I love Crosley engines...
My buddy BCR who owns Big Creek Restoration in Ellis Kansas and his family who were there to display the 40 Chevy winner of the Good Guys "America's Most Beautiful Street Rod" award. Mike Keller and family.
The last car built by the late Elden Titus and was painted and finished by his friends after his death for his wife. This car was the winner of the Mark Moriarity Awards at the KKOA Lead Sled Show last summer.
Mercs including the black one owned by Mick of Stray Kat fame who throws a great party which also is known as the Stray Kat 500 in Dewey, OK and is a super fun car show. Also is the promoter of the Starliner Show in Wichita.
Jack, I did see you one time but you were walking by fast one aisle over and looked to be on a mission. Was your new car there? I didnt see it?
We had a good time at the show. It is always fun to catch up with all of your friends and look at nice cars. I saw double the young people at this car show than any car show I have ever been too!!!
My buddies 55 was next to this car, I've heard it has quite a history behind it. Supposedly the guy who used to race this car also had a white one he fatally wrecked.
Kool pics Paul, Thanks for posting the picture of the Merc. Its not usually this clean. It was a kool show hopefully Kustom city will be back next year. Happy Trails, Mick
