Motor went in with ease. Still finishing up the front clip. Hope to have it running in a couple of weeks.
Went with dynomax bullets. Got one side done. Its pretty hard to see after i sprayed it with Eastwoods satin exhaust paint.
Wow, I love love love this build! What finish is it on the taillight trim and bumper? Doesn't quit look chrome (maybe it's just the pictures?) But I dig it!
How or what did you use for tracks on the bucket seats?.....also how did you go about mounting them? Seats look exactly like the ones I'll be installing in my '55 Chevy.
M Demoor- You're correct, its not chrome. Its actually silver metallic paint covered with a satin clear coat. I am trying to stay away from any chrome on the exterior.
Monk67- I used the factory sliders with the seats. If you look at the passenger side floor board in my car, you'll see the perches I installed. I did it this way to keep the seats as low as possible. I just welded a nut on the underside of the perches to make them easy to mount.
Just got the new radiator and fan. Should have them installed this weekend and able to fire this thing up.
I like this car a lot ! Don't know how I missed this build, but I'm watching it now. Love the color choice. Whole car looks great.
Finally rolled it out for a pic. Looks like I have to center up the rear a little. Dropped the front seats off the other day to get covered. Starting to look like a car. Got it running over the weekend. Initially couldn't get spark. Took me three hours of head scratching to find out I didn't finish grounding the distributor! Uggh, what a waste of 3 hours. I'll try and post a video of it running soon.
They came out of a 65 Chevelle. I believe the Chevelles, GTO's and Corvairs were all the same that year.
Leaving the V-8 emblems under the tail lights is something you rarely see on a gasser. Great choice having them there. I can't wait to see a video of it running. Best of luck to you as your build continues,
finally got a recent pic. Only a few things left to do. Install the new driveline, finish rear brakes, windshield and interior. Hope to have it moving on its own in a couple of weeks.
