A friend sent me these from Calif. Right out of the 50's. Anyone know this car or it's history. Most defiantly an old show rod. No it's not mine but I do have plans for one of these someday.
There is a whole thread on this car, my friend Lloyd bought it from the orig. builders estate in the mid 1980's. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=675234&highlight=belmont+1932+lloyd
That's sweet...no 22" rims, aftermarket stereo system or extra junk, love it! Only hint someone has touched it are the white/clear wire zip ties by the coil.
That's my car, and my photos, taken last year. Sitting in my garage now. Where did your friend get them?
Damn, I had deuce envy after seeing your black '32. I had no idea this was parked in the garage next to it. Wow, you must be livin' right to have a couple of deuces as cool as these. Awesome! .
Man....It's been alot of years...can't remember..but Anyone from Dayton, Oh know Joe Bisset? Is this his old car? He ran a "Western Auto Store" in the 70's in Trotwood, Ohio I bought Hot Rod parts from him.. That car looks familar....
this link is well worth reading. have you contacted Blackie Gejeian (Fresno Autorama) in Fresno? bet he knew the car and owner while in Fresno.
Have not changed anything, did the brakes, and changed the seating position slightly, that's all. The Hydro needs some adjustment, because it can't figure out what gear it wants to be in. I didn't want to do anymore for fear of ruining something. I've contacted some Fresno area guys to no avail. Now that my Black 5W is nearing completion after 10+ years, I may sell this.
alfin32, is this your car? was it taking from you? Whats up is everything cool ? please keep us informed if you need any help with it. I'm confused between alfin32 and Jalopy Joker....
Yes, my car, bought it from a guy in NJ about a year ago. Read the link o the previous posts, it ran El Mirage in '48 with a flathead, and is pictured in Mongomery's book. The engine runs fantastic, but the Hydro needs adjustment. The rear is an open driveshaft '48 Ford truck, with '50's GM trailing arms. I'll probably sell it soon, as I don't want to have two 5W's. Would possibly trade it for a different body style.
Gotta leave that one alone, it would be a shame to do more than make it driveable, you don't see many old show cars it that good of shape.
