Hey Guys, First off I'm in Santa Cruz, California about an hour south of San Francisco I'm in need of help ! Both sourcing whitewall tires and some steel rims (maybe custom offset) Also techniques for mockup, and figuring out the correct offset and width Any good websites to check out for determining offset etc ??? Right now I have some very old American Racing rims, they don't even have a safety bead ! They are 15x10 and I have some 265's mounted on them about 26 inches in diameter. I want taller tires and probably 15x8, 15x6, or 16's rims??? 28 inches tall is about all I can go without hitting the rear inner fender well But I think they will look much better inside the arc of the fender opening, the current tires look to small. Thanks, Tobias
Check out diamondback tires. I think they are the best if you want radial white walls. http://www.dbtires.com/catalog2011.html Also Hurst Racing in Oregon are doing radial white walls. Coker has bias ply and radial whites. Wheel Vintiques has excellent wheels. They are an Alliance Vendor http://www.wheelvintiques.com hope this helps.
I'm pretty sure I have narrowed it down to Diamondback tires, I have read such good things. I really would like to get everything mounted and balanced all together instead of shipping here and there and mount and balance at home. I tried calling the whitewallcandystore as they are a DB dealer but the website is down and the phone mailbox is full -- are they still in business ? Even better would be someone in the SF area - maybe even help with the size/offset issues Thanks again, Tobias
I'm a believer in Diamondback. ### Kustom Falcon Build Thread: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=734282
ralley america is in nor cal, hamber wheelkid. http://www.rallyamerica.com/Rally_America_Home__BIJ5.html and I think the whitewall candy store is now classic white wall tires.....not sure though. http://www.classicwhitewalltires.com/
Thanks for all the help, Getting closer Wheel Vintiques has a wheel fitment and backspace guide but they are not "clickable"
try:https://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html (wheel technical information) and You Tube-Measure Wheel Backspacing. so, planning any body work on your truck. rear fenders and bed length look out of proportion. what type of rims are you planning on running?
Don't know if this is current info...but Coker had a location 2.5 hours from you in Fresno, CA Coker Tire 5468 East Lamona Avenue Fresno, CA 93727 (559) 453-3278
I believe that's a distribution hub, but I'm wrong more than not. ### Kustom Falcon Build Thread: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=734282
Classic Whitewall TIres is a DB distributor and was originally the Whitewall Candy Store. Here is the website: www.classicwhitewalltires.com 714-769-4800
I've had good luck with Early wheel company. They were eager to do the custom offset I wanted and reasonably priced.
