Danny Ozcodi's 56 Nomad was stolen from the Sheraton parking lot early Sunday morning. The "guard" at the driveway alledgedly saw someone arrive in a white van about 6:00am and leave if the Nomad a few minutes later.

Anyone with any information is urged to call the Pomona P.D.

Yeah, but my img tags don't appear to be working.

    What did I do wrong?

    Thanks Glen

The guard saw someone come in one vehicle and leave in a different one and did not stop him? Head's should roll. What was his job?

That's a better description however, it's clear that they need a guard and/or some system of making sure this problem doesn't persist.

First, you would have had to have been up and alert at 6am when they took it. Then you'd still have to be a hell of a good shot with a pistol from your room window to have gotten the guy as he drove away. A rifle would have been more useful, but is hard to conceal of course.

Alarms, insurance, pulling critical parts, gps trackers, etc. is a lot easier and safer.

it was driven out? the value of my cars couldn't pay the chrome bill for a car like that, but if they are staying out overnight anywhere they are disabled to the point that they will not be driven away. an old car like that could be stolen just about as fast with the keys as without.

Come on, do you really expect a parking lot attendant that is probably living in poverty, to stick his/her neck out, and try to stop Grand Theft Auto while it's in process? I hate that this vehicle was lost, and hopefully will be recovered without too much damage, BUT it's still, just a car, and definitely not worth having someone killed or injured trying to prevent it's theft.

not if it is the bad guy. bad guys deserve whatever they get.

it does not look ike "just a car" to me.

Sounds suspiciously quick and intentionally targeted. Not some random opportunity theft. Maybe a repo guy found an opportunity to grab it or a 'friend' got a hold of it.

This happens too often. The guys that ride Harleys always have a guard. Would that be feasible? 1 hour, 2 hour shifts. And the main parking lot needs to be gated, maybe with a card to enter and exit.

Sorry to hear about the Nomad.

Thieves are one of the lowest forms of life, but not changing behavior and expecting different outcomes is one of the descriptions of insanity. If this happened last year and nothing was changed at the Sheraton between then and now, why didn't we expect this to happen again this year?

Just to save you the trouble of worrying, if nothing changes again, expect another car will be stolen again next year. Maybe two.

  30. Some one some where has a total wrecked rust bucket nomad with vin tags and a title in his name thats what happend to my 58 Impala.Alarms fuel locks club members pich in and hire private security to work the motel parking lot well worth the money.
