Mine was a 65 Mustang, tube chassis with blown alky small stroker ford, before I built the chassis it was just a back halfed car with the 310,c4, same blower and carbs it went 10.40s, the chassis car was a bit bigger engine 352, planetary trans and alky inj, I got divorced before I could find out what it would do, should have run in the 8s or so all my buddys thought...
If anyone came across this car I would offer a reward, last I heard it was in the San Fernando Valley

Mine was a 1982 z/28 that i scored in 1988. I pulled the smoked 305 crossfire and installed a 11:1 built 355 running bowtie heads making 425 hp. I had a t-10 4 speed and 3.42 gears. I put it together when i was 16 & it was a very quick fun car. Best 1/4 mile was high 12's and i street raced a buick gn who claimed i passed him @ 140

  5. Well......

I don't like posting my cars on here but as long as mostly everybody is posting O/T cars as their fastest, this one is one of mine and it's my fastest..........

I still think my very first car was the fastest car I ever had it was a white 57 Corvette it was scary fast going down my parents steep driveway. No one in the hood could touch me. I lost control within the first week I had it and crashed into my dads brand new 1967 Chevy beachwagon, he was pissed ! I told him it had no brakes but it didn't matter the damage was done. He wouldn't let me get my drivers licence till I was 25

Had a bone stock 67 Corvette 435hp 4spd coupe. Wasn't as fast as alot of cars already posted but for all stock it ran decent. Those factory carbs were a real pain. Original factory side exhaust and 411s. If nothing else it sure sounded good.

1969 Torino GT , 390 10 to 1 compression, crane 280/.515 lift cam P.I. heads with 3 angle valve job and pocket port, high rise DP intake ,Holley 850, headman headers. c/6 with 3.73 gears. never went to the track but it pulled hard and was the fastest car I have owned. This is the only pic I have of it taken in the mid 80s.

I had a real nice 76 Ranchero GT with a 351M............biggest POS I ever had.

The one ot car I wish I had back was my 68 AMX 390 4 spd. It was quick, and I outran plenty of Fords and Chevys on the street, but I never timed it.

  14. Uh, not to be the odd man out with an On Topic car but, mine was a '56 Chevy 427/w a hemi 4 speed, 390 geared 12 bolt. Never went down the quarter but it was pretty potent. Second fastest was OT. I won't bring that one up.

The quickest car I've ever owned was a 66 Skylark GS. The fastest I've ever owned was a Audi 5000 with a turbo.

Fastest car I've owned has to be my 67 Barracuda Fastback. Had a stroker small block and 727. I traded it away last weekend and I'm missing it already.

My fastest truck was a bone stock 1949 International. blown, injected on alcohol 400 Pontiac,4800 stall, 5:13 gear. Run 1/8 mile , 6.18 @ 130 mph. Pulled 30 foot goose neck all week and raced it on the week ends. Just kidding. HAHA! I sold it .would like to know where it went. I was told its in Califoria.

Officially, my Model A coupe is the fastest car I ever ran, in fact, the only one I ran on a timed strip. 12.60's in street trim (treaded Coker WWW tires and thru the exhaust).

Statistically, my Model T roadster would be the fastest. It should run mid-high 11's. Same motor as the blue Model A but a 5 speed and about 1000# lighter.

I guess that's why you don't race them on paper.

  26. Sadly, my fastest has been the '02 Z28 convertible I drove for about two years. I've driven many fast street cars, and I'll never believe that car had only 315 horses coming out of that LS1.

Now, the car that's felt the fastest is my '20 T lake racer (pics in my profile). 30 in that car feels like 60. 50 feels like 100. No real brakes and about 70 hp roaring out of that heavily modified T block. The only thing keeping you 'on' the car is the crack of your a$$ grabbing the naugahyde seat.

The fastest one I have owned....is still sitting in my garage after 40 years....its my 68 vette, its basically stock, 327-350HP L-79, posi, 4 speed CR, 3.55 gear, bored 60 over, 11:15 to 1 CR, and balanced by the famous Banjo Matthews racing shop.

It was lot faster when gas was much better...but still puts you to the back of the seat when you want it too.

Ex-pro stock Vega that went some low 9 second laps in the early '80's. I could never drive it right, but we ran some 5.90 1/8th mile stuff with it. Usually got put out in the 1st round because of driver error...
