Hot Rods Steering box help

    i have a stock model "A" steering column , what steering box will be the easiest to use with the stock column ??? thanks .. steve
     
  2. F-1 or F-100 is a pretty easy fit.

    The Model "A" steering box will be the easiest to use with your Model "A" steering column. or hoe bout a 32-34 box? rebuilt it works just as good and needs less mods than an F-100 box to fit in your a rails.

    i have suspension changes tha makes the stock box damn near impossible to use ...... thanks .. steve
     
  6. Look in the classifieds? look on craigs list or the junk yard? The same people that will sell you a '33-'34 or a model A box are the people that sell F-1 or F-100 boxes.

    perhaps a corvair box will suit you...........Are you running an IFS?

    just a model "A" coupe . 4" drop axle , hyd brakes , hair pins all around . i may have it figured out . not sure yet . thanks

    Just put a Vega in it and run cross steering. Much easier than modifing truck boxes and trying to rebuild them. You can put a bearing and a U joint at the base of the column and you are set.

    yes my first thought . i think i may have come up with a fix . if not vega it is . thanks all for the help ........... steve
