i just picked this 32 ford pines winterfront grill from an old local hotrodder, he told me that a friend of his brought it back from Saskatchewan canada and gave it to him 30 ish years ago. he was over with my dad last week checking out my project and told me he had a 32 grill with a winter incert on it. i was at his house the next day to check it out, and before i knew it we made a deal and i was taking it home. the only problem is that it is missing one of the bars. Does anyone know where i could find one or if there is any other winterfront grills that the bars are the same??? Need Help, really want to restore it and run it on my roadster that i'm building

  2. Make one. Does not look too hard. Might play hell trying to find a single bar. No one will never know.

That's a great story, and like Dale said.... Who would know the difference?

If it was mine, I'd sell it and finish my car.

    Just sayin'

A winterfront grill on a roadster? Kind of an oxymoron isn't it?

I was thinking of making one, i just picked it up last weekend so kinda want to try to find one, but if i cant i'll have to make one myself, think its going to be alittle harder to make than i think, the back has to look proper too for when its open

Congrats on finding one. Its going to be hard to find any spare bars. I don't know of any. Do you have any more pics of you're roadster?

At last years LARS there was a vendor selling repop winterfronts, may be a source for parts, can't recall the name

"A winterfront grill on a roadster? Kind of an oxymoron isn't it?" I have driven my roadster in the winter and had to block off the rad. to get the car to run at proper temps. Ya, I was thinking the same thing, then I drew upon my past experience.

If you can't find one and it turns out too hard to make I'd run it like it is. Nothing cooler than a honestly earned battle scar.

I'd consider removing the one on the other side and making a new center piece. Finding a guy with a good bead roller may take some time. Bob

Remove one bar from the other side, and narrow the shell. This would really mess with the heads of the high-dollar 32 guys.

From time to time if you watch bars show up. The guy with the repro winterfront is from Idaho and specializes in stainless grilles. I've had 2 originals but they have moved on to other caretakers

Nice score on the grill. Making a bar may be the way to go.

There was a guy on Ebay, or maybe it was here, had the
same situation, although, he had picked up another Winter
Front, made for a different car, and found the fins where
darn near the same, if you have the skills, you might be able
to find another and make one out of two....Happy Hunting !!!!

OK, I guess I don't really know much about these, I do know where one is, I could probably get it for a decent price, so what is a really nice one worth? Jim

    Check out epay item #261148460402
its for a 1931 1932 reo royale grill insert almost identical to the 32 pines winterfront . I dont think the reserve was met, maybe work a deal with the seller and take the piece you need and sell the rest back on ebay. Just a thought.
