Thee Inland Emperors running for AMBR 2013 with the Woodward roadster!!!!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chris, Jan 22, 2013.

  1. John's Woodward Roadster is absolutely gorgeous! And full of amazing details that grainy cell phone photo can't do justice. Case in point, I stopped by the shop Monday afternoon, and ended up not leaving until early Tuesday morning simply because every time I looked at the Woodward Roadster I would notice another beautiful design element that I hadn't seen before. John's an amazingly talented graphic designer in his own right and everything down to the matte black finish on the nuts and bolts bears his impeccable design touch. If you're attending the GNRS this weekend make it a point to stop by and look at the build book or visit with John about the hundred of one off inspired or highly modified original Early Ford parts that went into building the Woodward Roadster.

For those of you that don't know, John's a second generation Spokane, WA hot rodder who's late father Richard "Speedy" Gunsaulis was, and still is, a show car, hot rod, and early Ford V8 legend in the Pacific Northwest. If you own the recently release Rodder's Journal Scrapbook, go to chapter 15 to see some of the photos from Speedy's scrapbook. The chapter is titled "The Art of the Show Car" and I couldn't pick a better description of the Woodward Roadster if I tried. I'm very proud that John is on road south right now to accomplish one of his lifetime goals of competing for AMBR, and I wish him the best of luck. Hopefully come Sunday night they'll be a seven-foot trophy next to Woodward Roadster. Here are a few cell phone shots I took during the final assembly process.
